    1. Chop the onions, add oil to a saucepan and sautee the onions until translucent and slightly brown.
    2. Add all the other ingredients and let it come to a boil, then turn down the heat and let it simmer with the lid on until the oats create a thicker sauce-like texture, usually takes 10-15 min.
    Perfect on mashed potatoes.

    1 tbsp oil
    2 medium onions finely chopped
    5 tbsp fine oatmeal
    500ml vegetable broth or 500ml water+bouillon cube
    1 tsp ground nutmeg
    2 tsp ground paprika powder
    3 dried bay leafs
    1 tsp dijon mustard
    A drizzle of maple syrup
    Pepper and salt to taste
