Sad to say, this once-praised restaurant has gone way down hill. It's so sad to say this because vegans and vegetarians deserve fine dining options too but this place is not it. The problem comes from the fact that man behind it all is a passable cook who was over-praised into thinking he's a visionary chef or something. This all came to a head with his woefully handling of the revolutionary Impossible Burger, which until a couple of weeks ago, So Cal residents could only find at Crossroads. This 300 million dollar burger patty was cooked into a dull dry grey hockey puck, losing all its potential flavor in the process, then the "chef" refused to remove the "special sauce" and in fact slathered all over the bun and the patty. I couldn't eat the sorry thing, neither could my date, neither could the diners at tables on either side of us. With cattle farming a significant factor in global warming and the terrible cruelty inflicted on the cows themselves, this is no time for "chefs" to turn off potential vegans and vegetarians, simply because the short order cook who owns the place dreams of being an artist. Shameful. Will never go back. Oh, and the fake American cheese was disgusting too.
Pros: Polished, if slightly dated decor, Nice part of town
Cons: Horrible food preparation, Ignores basic diner concerns, Sabotaged the Impossible burger launch in So Cal
Not a vegan restaurant
This place can't be considered a vegan restaurant as they request vaccines to actually eat there. Vaccine has both animal and human DNA and are tested on animals. This is obviously both unethical and discriminatory practice not know since WWII. I was not going to go to this place anymore, but now I am concerned about the food that I have eaten here as it could actually had some animal parts, since this establishment doesn't understand what vegan food and lifestyle is.
Cons: Unethical, Disciminatory, Non-vegan
They now require a non-vegan vaccine to eat here. BEWARE
Use to be my favorite place, no more.

DO NOT EAT HERE! - Edit
DO NOT EAT HERE!!! If I could give it negative stars I would! I ended up paying $250 for 2 meals!!! First off they charged me $75 for an appetizer plate of pasta with alfredo sauce and a couple shavings of chocolate on top! Price was not listed on menu as it was a today's special and waitress did not tell me price. Everything is medoicre. Nothing tasty or special about any of it! We had 4 small plates(these plates are tiny people!) And 2 cocktails each for a whopping price of $250 with tip. The waitress was lousy! Other servers giving you the food. This place is all hype. I attempted 3 times to contact the manager, who by the way is never in, and only got a return message from a hostess saying he would contact me. Never did! The most expensive meal of our lives!!!!! I will post negative comments wherever I can on the internet about this place!
