Pretty good food - Edit
I had been here many years ago and thought I’d give it another try. The vegan options were tasty and filling. I really enjoyed the r dosa filling and the samosas. The mushroom mutter and eggplant curries were also very good. The service must have improved, because the staff were quite nice.

Authentic and inexpensive - Edit
Great meat-free options including the array of dosas you would expect from a S Indian place called Dosa King! Perfectly crispy dosas with flavour packed fillings at a reasonable price (for Bangkok!)

Delicious Dosa - Edit
The food was fresh and hot when it came out. (Dosa and the paneer dishes were beautifully done) The raita was incredible. I come from an area with a large Indian population in Canada and was craving my weekly Indian feast while in Bangkok. The service however was not good. Took 45 minutes to get our first item and we were one of 3 people in the whole place. Our server seemed unhappy and miserable. She never checked in to ask about the food or if we needed anything. She forgot our chutneys, my boyfriends drink and took 15 minutes to come back for a knife we requested. My boyfriend left for an appointment and came back 30 minutes later and his food had just arrived. Then waited 15 minutes to get our leftovers and we were the only people in the restaurant. I’d highly recommend using the Grab ap and ordering takeaway and not dining in. The food is worth it but not the dining experience.

Delicious dosa and a lot of vegetarian menu, regularly eating but since COVID-19 period, I could not enjoy as much as before. A little difficult for parking. Yummy food.

Horrible food - Edit
This place is terrible, truly the worst Indian food I’ve ever eaten. Starter/main all came at once and all immediately after I’d ordered. Plainly straight out of microwave. Malai Kofta so hard I couldn’t actually bite into eat.

Delicious - Edit
I ate here twice and enjoyed the food. I had a spinach masala dosa, which was very good, and a puri chole which was delicious. Very filling and good portion sizes.

Solid - Edit
This is not mind blowing but is also not bad at all. Bangkok can be sometimes pretty tough for a vegetarian or vegan and it takes some planning to keep from getting to the point of wanting to eat anything that isn’t some unidentifiable piece of flesh on a stick sold out of a pushcart. After a long day of touristing and failing to find a decent meal, Dosa King hit the spot. The quiet interior was an oasis of calm in a chaotic neighborhood and the food was just what the bellies needed. I did not ask about the ghee situation but am assuming there probably was some. Even though the hallway to get to the dining room had posters about being happy and vegan, the menu had a lot of cheese. Would definitely recommend this place but if you are vegan and not totally at the end of your rope, do ask about the ghee...

Will never go back - Edit
I won't say the food was unacceptable but it was the lowest ranking Indian food I have ever had and I'm Canadian.
Read moreIt was spiced the way we asked which was spicy but aside from that it was fairly bland.
I am one who doesn't mind if food in a restaurant is not the greatest but when the staff, and I mean each one of them is absolutely miserable and are dragging their butts like they are slaves being abused and used, then my experience becomes extremely poor.
We gave a twenty percent tip because that is what we do no matter what. This is the only time one of the girls cracked a slight fake smile.
I would fire all of these girls and hire a whole new staff. Just saying.
Pros: quite a few vegan options
Cons: Bland food, miserable staff

Overall, good food. My food came cold, but I thought I was ordering a hot dish. Still tasted good and the dosa was excellent.

Not so pleasant experience - Edit
After a long travel day and eating almost to Indian food for more than a week, we were looking forward when we entered the restaurant. Quite busy, and it a few minutes for us to get to a table. The upside section was empty but the management had decided not to sit any customers even though quite a few customers were still waiting after us and one of them was a large group.
Read moreOrdered a South Indian Thali and Rawa Masala Dosa. The order came in within a few minutes. The Rawa Masala Dosa was crunchy and perfectly cooked and delicious. I am used to the Masala (potatoes and onion mixture) to be inside, this was served on the side. The Sambhar too salty for our taste. The Dosa too greasy. Could have requested no/less oil. The chutneys good. The Masala being the best.
The Thali had Masala Dosa with Masala being again on the side. Same the Dosa too greasy for our taste, however cooked perfectly. The Idli and Medu Wada was a big letdown. The wada did not seem fresh and seemed a bit stale. Not crunchy and under cooked from the inside. The Idli too bland and again seemed stale. For a South Indian restaurant to fail on the basics of Idli and Wada is shocking. The Papad was again stale, limpy and not crunchy at all. The Rasam was redeeming and good. The yogurt and gulab jamun which Mrs had there were no complaints.
The mandatory 10% service charge again a disappointment.
Towards the middle of our meal we noticed a dead cockroach on the floor! Disgusting.
Pros: All dishes clearly marked which are vegan

1 star! Disappointing, below average food. Will never go back again sorry. - Edit
I tried to give zero stars, then one star. But system gave two. Disappointing, below average food. Rude staff. Will never go back again sorry. Orders were got wrong, food doesn’t look much like the pictured menu. Just don’t expect much in the way of quality or flavor. Most of us didn’t even finish our food, I barely touched my dish as it was not what I ordered and not one staff member asked me how my meal was. Oh and no beers available - it’s not licensed.

Déception! Accueil froid: on dérange?

Excellent dosa - Edit
I had the paper masala dosa and it was really good. I especially liked the sambhar. I’m Indian and I can say the food is definitely authentic. It’s a bit pricier, but not nearly as pricey as the Western cafés that surround it. Skip them and go here instead for decent vegetarian food. It’s still very affordable.

Love this place - Edit
This is a great little Indian restaurant! It is fully vegetarian, and all of the items on the menu are marked with a little green V for vegan. I regularly have the dosas, uttapam, garlic naan, and samosas whenever I go and it never disappoints. It is mainly south indian so if you love dosas like I do, definitely go here!
