White asparagus ice cream - Edit
Same as in the title, go for the dessert. I am sure you cannot try any other white asparagus vegan ice cream in any other place in the world. It was really exquisite. We went for lunch so the main plates were rather small, and I found them somewhat underwhelming, I expected something better. Nonetheless I would come back just for the ice cream!

Amazing - Edit
Yerba is a really nice and delicious restaurant. The food there is great. It's been a while since we ate here, but I remember the asparagus ice cream in the shape of a magnum very well! Highly recommended. I could definitely go back here!

Original, creative, yummy. We stopped in on a Saturday evening. No ala carte. 4 courses 43 euro. All good. This is really veggie friendly. The option is to add fish or whatever in case you have non-veggie companions

Absolute Empfehlung!

Veggie forward restaurant, where they create beautiful and extremely tasteful dishes! Definitely worth the visit. All dishes are vegan - for some you can add meat or fish.

A transformative vegan gastronomic experience - Edit
This restaurant shows what it's like to have vegan fine dining. And yes, it is a vegan restaurant though they call themselves 'plant forward' because they offer fish/meat for 2 of their courses as add ons for those meat eaters who just don't want an entirely vegan meal. However, the meat is the add on here, and not vegan substitution as it usually happens in other places.
Read moreBe aware that you can have 4, 5, or 6 courses with portions adjusted depending on the number of portions. Our meal started with a hush puppies amuse buse, went on to white asparagus in a stunningly delicious sauce, over onto salsify cooked four different ways, then cashew cheese with potatoes on a delicious pepper and tomato sauce. Every course was perfectly paired with a fantastic wine sourced from all over Europe. The dessert was a fantastic, mind-blowing blend of flavors, and The last course was an add-on and had amchur powder and turmeric!
The owner, Walter, works in the open kitchen with three others, and our server Alex was very knowledgeable of all the course and wines. We left there transformed, impressed, and with one of the most memorable meals of our lives.

Fine dining - Edit
Vibrant and modern restaurant in the heart of the Pijp district, close to the Museumplein. Menu is powered by plants, what means the main menu is fully vegan. We were explained there were some dishes with option to add fish or meat - but it’s rather not a first recommendation - and I believe people who choose meat option still are served mostly plant-based dishes 🌱 it might be a good place to invite vegan-sceptics! you can order a’la cart or decide to go with the chefs menu - what we did. Next time I would decide to order a’la cart to make sure we eat different dishes and share to explore more tastes, as everything looks delicious! There’s also a wine paring possibility with 6euro per glass per dish. The only downsize was the the place is very noisy - not typical for Amsterdam. So if you miss a big city vibe - you will enjoy 💫

Yerba: don't bring the mates - Edit
Alright restaurant. The Yerba Mate's were really good, and my girlfriend got the Cajun Hush Puppies. Those and the Cajun Fried were pretty good, hence the three stars, but my waffles and sausage tasted very bland - the sauce was awful.

Pros: Good place for cocktails and fries

Mostly plant-based, they do offer some non-vegan “additions”, which in my opinion can go. Would be 5 stars if they did

Great dining experience - Edit
Loved the food, portion sizes were great, beautiful new tastes and textures highlighting the produce itself. The possibility to add meat to one of the dishes seems superfluous and unnecessary to the menu, considering the beautiful work done in the dishes. Wine pairing was also great. The atmosphere is a little fancy, young and laid back; great for a little celebration diner with friends.

Plant-based haven! - Edit
The food was without a doubt exceptional. I loved the inclusion of sea vegetables (something we need far more of in other restaurants!) the price was fair for the quality. The only downside was that I found the atmosphere to be a little too loud and almost ‘party’ like, which was distracting from the flavours.

We had a 6 course meal, the waiter who was super friendly asked us if we wanted the same dishes or different ones so we could share a bit and taste even 12 different dishes. It was wonderful! The staff was nice, the food was delicious and there is a nice atmosphere in the restaurant.

Don't expect fast food - Edit
Don't expect fast food. This is a serious and great restaurant serving menus of 3 courses upwards. No fast food but really great and creative vegan cuisine. We totally loved it - both for the food and the service. They do serve meat options as well - so bring your non veg friends ;)

Lovely restaurant for a special occasion - Edit
My boyfriend and I went to this restaurant to celebrate a belated Valentine’s Day. The food was really good (all plant based) with lots of different flavors (it’s a bit experimental, so some combinations of flavors were delicious, others less to our taste) Portions are not big, but three courses was still enough for us (you can go up to six). It’s an expensive place, so I would save it for a special occasion.
